Data & BI Engineer
We are opening a position of Data & BI Engineer within the Business Intelligence & Applications team.
BIA is the team where data, software and automation come together at NewCo. We build and configure the applications our business runs on, connect them through APIs, automate workflows in Jira, and turn the data those systems produce into reporting our clients and management actually use.
This role sits at the centre of two long-term priorities. The first is revamping our reporting stack: moving away from fragmented, manually maintained reports towards a modern, self-service platform with reliable definitions and automated delivery. The second is building our data lake: a single, governed place where operational, contact center, and client data land, so that analysis, reporting and AI use cases can be built on one consistent foundation instead of one-off extracts.
You will spend your time on data analysis, data modelling, and pipeline work, alongside the application and integration work that keeps the underlying systems talking to each other. It is a role for someone who wants to both answer business questions with data and build the plumbing that makes those answers repeatable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Analyse operational and client data to answer business questions, identify trends, and support decision making across NewCo and our clients.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Design, build and maintain dashboards and reports; contribute to the migration and redesign of our reporting stack, including consolidating existing reports and defining consistent metrics and definitions.
- Data Lake & Data Modelling: Help design, build and maintain our data lake, including ingestion, storage layers, data modelling, and documentation of data sources.
- Data Pipelines: Build and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines that move data from source systems into the data lake and reporting layer.
- Application Development & Configuration: Develop and configure internal applications and tools used across the business.
- API Connections & Integration: Build and maintain API integrations between internal applications, client platforms, and third-party services.
- Automation in Jira: Design and set up automations, workflows, and integrations in Jira to remove manual steps from business and IT processes.
- Data Quality & Reliability: Implement validation, monitoring and alerting so that reporting and pipelines are accurate, timely and trusted.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Apply best practices around access control, data residency, and GDPR/EU AI Act alignment in everything we build.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate business needs from operations, finance and client teams into data and reporting solutions, and present results to nontechnical audiences.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain documentation in Confluence and share best practices with the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting performance, and the level of automation across our stack.
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, data engineering, or a comparable analytical role. Strong internship, project or academic experience will be considered.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimising queries against relational databases.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data work (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and automation.
- Hands-on experience with a BI/reporting tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Understanding of data modelling concepts and ETL/ELT pipeline design.
- Experience with a cloud platform (Azure or AWS), and interest in cloud data storage and data lake architectures.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and how to integrate systems through them.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence is valued; experience building Jira automations is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub and version-controlled ways of working.
- Experience with statistics, experimentation (A/B testing), or machine learning is a plus, not a requirement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business questions into data questions.
- Fluent written and spoken English (French or Dutch is a plus).
- Ability to work independently in a fast-evolving environment.
Why apply?
You will join a team at the point where a genuine transformation is starting. Our reporting stack is being rebuilt and our data lake does not exist yet, which means you will help shape both rather than inherit someone else’s decisions. You will work close to the business, with direct access to stakeholders and real client impact, and you will grow across the full spectrum of data analysis, data engineering, application development, and automation. It is a strong opportunity for someone who wants breadth early in their career, in a team small enough that your work is visible and big enough that it matters.
What you’ll gain:
- Hands-on experience across analytics, data engineering, and application development
- A chance to shape a reporting platform and data lake used across NewCo
- Strong growth opportunities within BIA
What we offer:
- Permanent contract after successfully completing a 3-month probation period.
- Salary package based on a 44-hour work week:
- Base salary: 14,00 MAD
- Performance bonus: 2,00 MAD (based on quality, schedule adherence, and overall performance)
- CNSS registration from your first working day (basic social security coverage).
- Private health insurance from day one, covering all medical procedures, including dental and vision care, for you, your spouse, and your children.
- Free access to an online learning platform offering courses in 24 European languages.
- Free access to professionally guided sports sessions (Casablanca).
- Comprehensive mental health and wellbeing support through the OpenUp platform.
