Five years ago, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in the European Union, setting a new standard for data protection and privacy. At NewCo, we have always taken data protection seriously, and we have embraced the GDPR regulation as an opportunity to enhance our services and build trust with our clients.

GDPR has given our client’s and their customers more control over their personal data and more transparency about how we as an outsourcing company treat those data. We have taken GDRP very seriously since the very first day and have adapted and improved our practices to meet the regulatory standards that were set out 5 years ago today.

At NewCo we have implemented strict GDPR-compliant policies and procedures for data protection, outlining different roles, responsibilities, and strict security measures.  Regular training and awareness sessions have been implemented to ensure our staff is fully trained with regards to GDPR requirements, and we actively promoted the sharing of best practices and still encourage our employees to provide feedback and ask questions regarding data privacy matters.

The driving force behind the implementation are our internal Certified Data Protection Officers, who completed training and obtained certification from the Data Protection Institute in Belgium. Their expertise and dedication have been instrumental in rolling out GDPR in our different offices.

Our dedication extends beyond data protection alone, as we are fully committed to information security as well. This commitment is clearly illustrated by our ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS certification, highlighting our adherence to rigorous international security standards.

As we celebrate today the fifth anniversary of the GDPR regulation, we are proud of our achievements and continue with our commitment to data protection and privacy for our clients. We will continue to invest in strong data protection practices, maintain compliance with regulations, and adapt to the changing data protection environment.

We believe that the GDPR is not only a regulation, but also a mindset that guides us to deliver better services for our clients, day in day out.

Great news at the start of 2023! NewCo Communications is pleased to announce we have an additional certified internal Data Protection Officer, bringing the total to 3 certified internal DPO’s.

New DPO Gloria Rojas has obtained her certification by the Data Protection Institute in Belgium after an intense and extensive training programme over the course of 2022.

This additional certification is yet another example of NewCo Communications’ strong commitment to GDPR and to the protection of the data it holds and handles of their clients.

Gloria will be part of the Data Protection team, that handles all GDPR related business and monitors the company’s compliance with GDPR and all other data protection provisions.

We are pleased to announce that NewCo Coummunications will service Belgian energy supplier, Mega, from our offices in Valencia in Spain.

Mega is a Belgian gas and electricity supplier that offers a local and less expensive alternative to the multinationals of the energy sector. This young and dynamic company operates in Belgium, France and the Netherlands and already supplies more than 750,000 customers with simply cheaper energy!

As of April 2022 we will take care of the customer services activities for the Belgian market.

Helping others is at the heart of what we do at NewCo Communications. We are committed to giving back to local communities, as we see it as being part of our social responsibility.

That’s why earlier this month, we organized a collection among our staff at NCC Casablanca, collecting food and clothes for the “Dar El Houda” orphanage in Tanger. Dar El Houda provides a safe and caring place for orphans and elderly in 3 different locations in Tanger. In addition to emotional care and shelter, education is offered with the perspective of giving the orphans a better future.

A teams of volunteers of our NCC Casablanca staff collected the goods at our office in Casablanca, and drove 400km north to personally hand over the collected food and clothes, and to get to know the care center and the children.

This truly exceptional achievement has been the result of an intense journey and thanks to the hard work and dedication of the teams involved.

ISO 27001 is the leading international standard for information security management systems (ISMS) and therefore the most important data security certification globally.

This certification fits within NewCo’s strategy of creating the best in-class operational environment for its clients.

Successfully obtaining the ISO 27001-certification is yet another milestone in our quest for excellence and sits right at the top of an already remarkable period when it comes to certification.  2021 ended with the award of a Silver EcoVadis Medal. EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. We were awarded the medal for our CSR programme, not only focusing on ethical business conduct and our environmental footprint, but most importantly rewarding our efforts when it comes to the well-being of our people.

This strong focus on our people, has been clearly reflected in our latest Employee Satisfaction Survey where we took the eNPS (employee Net Promoter Score) even a step forward. Growing from 40 in 2019, to an exceptional 59 in 2021.  eNPS scores above 30 are considered as excellent!

On top, we added the renewal of our PCI/DSS certification to the list, which makes us very, very proud at NewCo.
